New Year's Eve... next year!

My girls celebrated at 9p.m. tonight, which means we totally enjoyed a New Year's Eve at home this year.  In my 20's going out for NYE was a blast.  Now with a family and young children I would almost rather spend this evening at home and pick any other night for a date night.  Not the busiest night of the year.  But... the one thing I do love about New Year's Eve is dressing up!!  Be it a party at home or a party at a friend's house there's something about putting on something sparkly and going out for a bit.

So I'm basically dreaming for next year.....

Sequin skirt would be fab (Similar, HERE).

I own this dress... perhaps I'll pull it out for next year.

Fabulous swarovski hosiery for NYE: Dbluedazzled

A perfect gold sequin party dress (Similar, HERE) & heels.

Nude nails with gold glitter tips.

Complete your look with a fab feather bag (Similar, HERE) and smoky eyes.

And a little bling to top it off!  (Similar, HERE)

Wishing you a very bright, healthy & prosperous New Year with a little sparkle & shine too.

Lazy Days in Many Ways

Geez, it's easy to feel lazy that week between Christmas and the New Year.  My girls are off of school, my house is stocked with leftovers, new movies & toys are piled up around the house, it's cold outside, which makes it a lot easier to stay inside, grab a mug of tea and never leave.  In fact, after my rest day turned yoga workout this morning I slipped my hoodie back on and decided to stay comfy today.
Workout tights: RBX Active, Workout pullover: Puma

I really should finish taking down my Christmas decorations, I should organize those toys, yet my dog beckons me to stay lazy on the couch together.  She's a bad influence.

But all joking aside I'm excited for a new year.  My team retreat in less than 3 weeks to Puerto Rico, lots of upcoming trips & fun, building our dream house (finally!) and putting a lot of my 2015 goals into motion.  So I suppose it's okay to relax a bit and be lazy a little, because I know the next few weeks are going to be BUSY.  In the end I realize I'm freaking blessed!  A job I love, two cute kids who don't draw blood when they fight and a husband who supports me to the moon & back.  So, I don't know, I guess sometimes it's in those quiet times that you realize how far you've come, how far you can still go and how blessed you are to just be there right in that moment.  Stay warm friends!

A New Year is Coming

I used to be into resolutions.  I would set all kinds of resolutions like to lose weight, workout more, drink a gallon of water a day and in the end.... I forgot about those resolutions by February 1st.  It was like going from 0 to 60 on January 1st versus just adding in some small changes that could lead to a longterm lifestyle change.  As I've grown I've learned that year long goals are a better fit for me.  This way I'm working on improving myself all year long instead of just hoping a few resolutions I make on January 1st will stick around all year.

Here are a few of my goals for 2015....

  • Spend more time engaging with my family on a weekly basis... game nights, movies, family dinners, etc..
  • Meet with tax & investment advisors quarterly to make sure we're on track to hit our financial goals
  • Weekly date nights with my husband, SO IMPORTANT!
  • Spend more time outside in nature being active like hiking, trail running, snowshoeing, etc..
  • Read more!  I plan on reading 26 personal development books in 2015
  • Continue building a strong Beachbody business each month, have fun and put more emphasis into developing future leaders on my team
  • Spend more time on ME.  Getting dressed, wearing make-up and just taking care of myself on a daily basis
  • Plan 3-4 family vacations this year (Puerto Rico, Mexico, up north & maybe NYC or out west??)
  • Lift more weights, because I love it!  Complete BodyBeast again & 21 Day Fix Extreme
  • Cook more for my family and try 1 new recipe at least 2x/month
  • Continue to save for our dream house, start construction this year
I think that's it for now!  I'm sure I missed a few and I'm actually working on putting every goal for the year down onto a dream board.  I find it helps me stay on track all year long.  So I think I've covered business, family, my own personal development, health & fitness, but there's really nothing on there fashion-wise.  I think that goal will just to be to blog more about what I love.... FASHION!

So here's a little year in review:

There's something about Sunday

Today I decided I should wear lipstick more.  I'm already wearing nail polish weekly.  And if you haven't already, check out Vinylux.  I'm wearing make-up more and enjoying feeling like a girly girl.  Oh and I've been making a vow to get dressed for my day beyond yoga pants for awhile now.  Don't get me wrong... I love yoga pants as much as the next girl, but sometimes you just need to feel like a put together woman.  You act different, you're more productive, you feel better, which is probably why I decided I should wear lipstick more.  I picked up a few shades today at Target until I can get to the mall for some YSL and Mac.

And I'm thoroughly enjoying my new Hunter boots.  They're the high gloss burgundy and I love the color and fit.  Perfect for wet or cold weather and lucky me, we get both in Michigan.  They were completely appropriate for church this morning and for running errands this afternoon.  Now I just need lipstick to match.
